MOUZ, Spirit sweep into Shanghai Major semifinals

Jordan Woodruff MOUZ and Team Spirit swept their way into the semifinals of the Perfect World Shanghai Major in China on Thursday.
MOUZ defeated The MongolZ and Team Spirit eliminated Team Liquid in the quarterfinals as the playoffs got underway for the $1.25 million Counter-Strike 2 tournament.
MOUZ won 16-14 on Ancient and 13-9 on Nuke, while Team Spirit pulled out 13-9 and 13-11 wins on Anubis and Dust II, respectively.
MOUZ and Spirit will meet Saturday, with the winner advancing to Sunday's grand final. All matches in the single-elimination playoffs are best-of-three, and the champion will take home $500,000.
The action resumes on Friday with two more quarterfinal matches: G2 Esports vs. HEROIC and FaZe Clan vs. Team Vitality.
